What are payment links and how do they work?
Payment links let you accept payments without a website. From your Teya terminal, app, or portal, you can create a link and send it by email, SMS, or messaging apps. When the customer clicks the link, they’re taken to our hosted checkout to complete payment.
Why should I use payment links?
They’re perfect for remote sales—such as phone orders, deposits, invoices, or promotions—making it easy for customers to pay you securely.
What type of payments can I accept via a payment link?
Payment links support card payments, Apple Pay, and Google Wallet autofill.
How do I create and send a payment link?
Open the Teya App, Portal, or your terminal, select “Create Payment Link,” enter the amount, and choose how to send it. You can send it directly by SMS or email, or copy the link to share however you like.
How do I know when my customer has paid using this link?
You’ll see the payment instantly in the Teya App and Portal. You can also enable email notifications.
Are there any extra fees for using the payment link feature?
No additional service fee applies. Transaction costs are the same as other online payments, which may differ slightly from in-store rates.
How quickly will I receive the money?
Funds from payment link transactions are settled the next business day, just like in-store payments.
Are payment links secure for my customers to use?
Yes. All payment links direct customers to our secure Hosted Checkout page, which protects their data and uses 3D Secure authentication.
Do payment links expire?
Yes. You can choose expiry times—for example, 30 minutes, 24 hours, or a custom date.
When is it best to use payment links for businesses?
Anytime your customer isn’t in store. Many merchants use them for deposits, bookings, or follow-up payments.
Can I send one link to multiple customers?
Not yet. Each link is single-use, but reusable links are coming soon!
How do I refund a payment that was processed through a payment link?
Refunds can be managed from the Teya App, Portal, or terminal, just like your other payments.
