1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Functions usually performed by a cookie can be achieved by ‘similar technologies’. This could include, for example, using certain characteristics to identify devices so that visits to a website can be analysed. Examples of similar technologies includes JavaScript objects and SDKs. From now on we will refer to these technologies collectively as ‘cookies’.
Mobile apps do not use cookies the way websites and mobile web browsers do. Teya apps use SDKs which are building blocks and are part of our apps. These SDKs are stored on your device when you download the app.
Cookies can either be a session cookie or a persistent cookie. Session cookies are deleted from user device when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies will remain stored on user device until deleted or until they expire.

Online security and fraud prevention includes, but is not limited to, identifying and blocking malicious activities (for example, multiple failed login attempts from the same IP address), implementing rate-limiting (to prevent brute-force attacks) and geolocating to detect suspicious access patterns (for example, simultaneous logins from different countries).
